does God love me even if I have a personality disorder? i have avpd and bpd. i looked it up and ppl say that personality disorders are demons living inside of someone. does that mean i'm not saved? does that mean God doesn't love me? Does that mean I did something bad to deserve this?

Respond to This Prayer Request

Hey, friend! If you've been adopted by Christ, NOTHING can take that from you. No pain, no disorder, no sin, no circumstances, NOTHING. Mental disorders are not a sin. They don't mean your faith isn't strong enough. Sometimes God chooses to give us things that feel like discipline but are really just meant to teach us to know Him more. (Think Paul's "thorn in the flesh." He hadn't necessarily sinned, and he prayed to have it gone, but God knew it was best for it to stay.) I've been struggling with depression for about 7 years now, and even though it's different from what you're experiencing, know that God still uses all things for good. He's giving you a testimony. He's using your weaknesses to pull you closer to Him.

Hey :) I can't say I know a ton about AVPD or BPD or that I have an answer for why you have to go through this, but I do know one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt: God loves you so much! He loves you no matter where you are in life, no matter what your circumstances, no matter what you've done, no matter how you feel. And he loves you so much more than you or anyone else could even comprehend. I very highly doubt that you have a demon living in you. But even if you did, God would love you just the same. He made you exactly who you are for a purpose, and he loves you just as you are. Check out Romans 8:31-39 sometime - they're some of my favorite verses, and especially encouraging in those times when I feel like God can't love me. Ephesians 3:18(ish)-19 are also a couple of my favorites (and it's my prayer for you too). I'm praying for you. You are so loved!
